Cloud Atlas (2012)

Pan's Labyrinth

Cloud Atlas is a tragically underrated masterpiece, stacked in layers, that intricately weaves dimensions of time and space on a mythic scale. And while it may appear to some as a disjointed jumble of storytelling, one cannot help but intuitively feel a larger theme running through it all, an understanding on a level that surpasses the intellectual, organizing mind. The many characters in the film are in a sense secondary to the primary idea that ties them all together. This gem will certainly require (and deserves) multipile vieiwings in order for one to begin to grasp its profound and mythic themes.
