The Lonely Path

E-mail Print PDF

In the wilderness, two men walked side by side upon a smooth path
wide enough only for both of them to travel.
And on each side of this path, there grew tall, prickly plants
that concealed many dangers and strange mysteries.

Now there came a point where this path became too narrow
that there was room for only one man to walk.
Each of these men, being of a compassionate nature, began to walk to the side
and beat a roadway through the wild brush.
For both were wanting to offer the narrow path to the other.

As they struggled through the thick meadow,
each man became scarred by the pricking of wild thorns and thistles
and the biting of strange insects.

However, the smooth, narrow path remained untrodden.
