The Circle of Light

E-mail Print PDF

I, Man, have seen a Pillar of Light spiraling toward Heaven.
The gods who dwell upon the infinite heights see naught but a Circle
moving back upon Herself, going nowhere.
And the demons below speak of Her as a lofty thing of idleness.

But I, Man, know Her mystery and can behold Her beauty, because I live upon the earth.
And yet I cannot explain Her purpose neither to the gods
nor to the demons who dwell around me.

I cannot explain to them this thing called Life.

Reflections

Virtue is knowing that one is driven by his arrogance. And arrogant is he who thinks he is virtuous. But he who understands the interplay between the two is neither virtuous nor arrogant but something else entirely.
