In this eye-opening documentary, John Pilger, an award-winning journalist in Britain and the US, takes a look at how the media did not live up to its own ideals by allowing itself to be manipulated by US and British governments and helping to generate support for the wars after 9/11. While I believe that all media is biased to some degree, including Pilger's film, it is still worth watching. This film demonstrates the way in which symbols and images, disconnected from their real meaning and context, can be powerful tools in swaying the public and creating unfounded fear and bias.

Joy cannot be bought or taken or bargained for. It must be given and even then, the receiver must receive it unknowingly and anonymously. There is no I in joy.
