Footprints

Once upon a time, a poet consumed himself endlessly, composing night and day,
wishing to leave his mark in the history of creation.
Generations came and departed full of poets like him,
all wishing to leave their footprints in the hearts of nations.

One day, a poet collected all the works of former generations
and laid them bare before him.
And behold, he saw his greater footprints.
